Justine and Eric’s Kimmel Center wedding in Philly was a beautiful winter affair. Although we are based in New York, we jump on every opportunity to travel to Philly to document weddings. Justine has an infectious enthusiasm and energy about her. We came to know about that during their engagement shoot a few months before the wedding. We had such a great time during the engagement shoot that we knew we were going to have a blast documenting this November wedding that culminated from hospital romance 🙂

The day started for us at the Double Tree Hotel where both Justine and Eric were getting ready. One of the advantages for us, being a team of two photographers in pretty much every wedding we shoot, we get to document the getting ready part of the bride and the groom simultaneously. While I was shooting Eric and the guys gearing up for the big moment, Nuva was set for what she does the best, photographing the bride and her bridesmaids. From the hotel, we got on a trolley to get to the church, Old St. Mary’s Church. The church and the ceremony were both beautiful – our first time documenting a wedding with elements from Filipino traditions. After the wedding ceremony, we headed out for to the First Bank area for portrait sessions. Despite the wind chill, photographing this fun crew was definitely one of the highlights of the day! Finally, we headed to the Kimmel center for the reception party, where Justine surprised Eric with a beautiful song as a tribute to their love. Everything about this wedding was so heartfelt that we almost felt like a part of the family. The best part of the night was Justine’s dance with 5 of her father figures who were the closest to her dad. It was apparent how much she was missing her dad on her big day but her mom made sure Justine had her picture perfect ending to the day by surprising her with a sparkler exit involving all of the guests. We were still smiling from all the great moments we had during the day as we drove back to the Big Apple after a 15-hour workday!
