Day 2 of Ali and Afsah’s wedding celebrations was the day of Valima- reception from the groom’s side. The second day, for us at least, was much less hectic compared to the first; no 5am flight! We met Ali and Afsah at the makeup place in downtown Seattle and en-route caught a glimpse of the Space Needle!

As soon as we met Afsah, we took some quick shots of her getting ready in front of the mirror. Reflections and interesting perspectives trigger our shutter fingers almost involuntarily and instantly! After getting warmed up in the makeup parlor, we moved on to a park nearby. This is the part where for us, photographers who enjoy experimenting with externals lights and outdoor shoots, things get super exciting. We took out our strobes, light modifiers, color gels and tried capturing the images we had planned.

After spending a couple of hours of pure photography fun, we headed off to the venue. The duration of the reception on second day was shorter than the first day’s, giving us a great opportunity to take the newlyweds on a night photo-shoot. Afsah and Ali wanted photos with the Seattle Skyline as backdrop, so we visited some cool spots in Beacon Hill and Kerry Park. We had to use external lights (of cours!) to balance the exposure. The end of two days of photography saga was a blast!
