Sara and Bryan are one of the most enthusiastically refreshing couples we’ve ever worked with! They were so infectiously energetic that when we met them on Sunday morning for their engagement shoot, we soon forgot that we covered a wedding the day before. One of the main reasons to love early morning shoots is the lack of tourists in the iconic NYC locations. Not only do we get beautiful-golden morning light, posing and taking the right shot without many folks strolling around the frame gets a lot easier. We started the session in the Dumbo area. Some of the colorful graffiti along with the cobblestone streets of Dumbo make it a one of our favorite locations to take portraits in. We were lucky to get a nice breeze that helped create some romantic and rather dramatic portraits!

After spending some time around thee beautiful streets of Dumbo, we took a coffee break in the One Girl Cookiees coffe-shop. While Sara changed her outfit, we caught up with Bryan and hard about their many adventures and love for travel. After the nice catch up and coffee break, we walked to the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood. Sara and Bryan spent a good part of their adult life in Brooklyn, so we wanted to capture the essence of the quaint and elegant Brooklyn neighborhood. Although it was a Sunday morning, the streets right beside Brooklyn bridge park were rather empty and the overall setting was serene! Sarah was a big fan of the Brownstones, so we found a couple of beautiful brownstone stoops, and the photos we took there were some of our favorites from the entire session! All in all it was an absolutely fun day of shooting with two amazing folks, and it felt like we were taking photos for two friends and catching up after a long time! We can’t wait to document the wedding off Sarah and Brian next April.
